Google review card, NFC card or QR standee: what actually gets reviews written?
Every option here does the same first thing: it gets a customer to your Google review page. The difference is what happens next, when they are looking at an empty box and trying to think of something to say.
The four ways to ask at the counter
- A free QR code. Copy the review link from your Google Business Profile, paste it into any free QR generator, and print it. Cost: nothing.
- An NFC review card. A plastic card with a chip. The customer taps it with their phone and the review page opens. Usually a few hundred rupees per card, bought once.
- A QR standee. An acrylic or card stand for the counter with the QR code printed on it. Usually ₹300 to ₹1,000, bought once.
- A card that helps them write. A QR code that opens a short draft review for your shop first. The customer changes it however they like, then posts it on Google from their own account. This is what AskRevu is.

Why most review cards stop working
The first three options are delivery: they open the review page faster. That is useful, but it is not where customers give up. They give up at the empty box. A customer who was happy with you still has to find words, in a language they may not type comfortably in, while standing at your counter.
That is why a card that opens a draft gets more reviews written. The customer starts from something, edits it, and posts. Every word is theirs to change, and most people change something.

What to avoid, whichever you pick
- “5-star only” promises. A tool that asks customers how their visit went and sends only the happy ones to Google is review gating. Google forbids it, and the reviews it collects are the first ones removed.
- Discounts for reviews. Google does not allow offering anything in return for a review — not a discount, not a free item.
- Reviews written for customers. Posting reviews yourself, or having staff post them, is fake engagement under Google's policy. The customer has to be the one who posts.

- Is there a free way to get a Google review QR code?
- Yes. Google gives every Business Profile a review link, and any free QR generator will turn it into a code you can print. It works. What it does not do is help the customer once they land on an empty review box.
- Do NFC review cards work on every phone?
- No. The phone needs NFC, and on many Android phones it has to be switched on first. A QR code works with any phone camera, which is why most NFC cards print a QR code on the back as well.
- Can a review card get my shop only 5-star reviews?
- No, and anything that promises this is either filtering out unhappy customers or buying reviews. Both break Google's policy, and Google removes the reviews they produce.
